Our Foster in Love program is dedicated to bringing normalcy to foster children in our community by offering resources and experiences that help them navigate their new realities.
Our Mission
Foster children often face immense uncertainty and emotional challenges when transitioning into new environments. At TSF, being an advocate means not only providing the resources they need but also creating opportunities for them to feel like kids again—free from the weight of their circumstances. From giving for a birthday experience to fulfilling their Christmas Wishlist, we strive to provide distractions from their trauma while building memories that bring healing and hope.
A Christmas to Remember
For many foster children, the holiday season can be a painful reminder of all they’ve lost. Without an organization sponsoring their Christmas, these children often go without the love, joy, and excitement that other children experience during this magical time. A Christmas to Remember initiative seeks to change that by ensuring every foster child feels valued and celebrated during the holidays.
Imagine the heartbreak of returning to school after the holidays and being asked to share what they received for Christmas, only to have nothing to say. For foster children, this moment is a stark reminder of their struggles. Many of these kids ask for basic necessities—shoes, warm coats, or backpacks—and sometimes wish for the impossible: to be back with their families.
Studies show that the holidays are particularly difficult for foster children, with many feeling heightened loneliness, isolation, and even shame. With your support, TSF can ensure these children are not forgotten by fulfilling their tangible wishes, big and small. A Birthday of Smiles
Every child deserves to feel special on their birthday, but for many foster children, this day often goes unnoticed. A Birthday of Smiles Initiative ensures that foster children are celebrated and cherished on their special day. Partnering with talented bakers and bakeries to provide each child with a customized birthday treat and a memorable celebration with their biological parent and/ or siblings.
Birthdays are a powerful way to affirm a child’s self-worth and remind them they are loved. Yet, studies show that many foster children never have their birthdays celebrated, leaving them feeling forgotten and unimportant. These moments of neglect can compound feelings of isolation that are already prevalent in foster care.
